My family had stayed on this beach on vacations back when we were teenagers. I loved the houses and the beauty and quiet of this place. So my sister recently rented a place near this beach and I, of course, brought a canvas and painted en plein air. It was a non-stop painting en plein air summer, I guess. I like the expanse of sky this piece has. It suggests the beach or the ocean without actually seeing the water. I am hoping it didn't get washed away in the "frankenstorm of 2012".
Debra Bretton Robinson grew up in Plaistow, NH and received her degree from the Mass College of Art in Boston. She and her family reside in MA. Debra is now a participant in the vibrant Lowell, MA art scene. Her acrylic paintings on canvas concentrate on the natural landscapes and architecture of New England in vibrating colors. Most of her work is done "en plein air" or on site, outdoors. Frequently her scenes are painted while on her “floating studio”, her husband’s boat, while he fishes.
