Artist's Description
My sister lives in Hollis, NH. This farm is down the street from her. Within walking distance to this farm is the Wild Salamander Creative Arts Center where I taught art to kids. Sometimes I walked my class to nearby places to paint en plein air. I made the sketch for this painting during one of our painting trips so I finally finished the painting today.
About Debra Bretton Robinson
Debra Bretton Robinson grew up in Plaistow, NH and received her degree from the Mass College of Art in Boston. She and her family reside in MA. Debra is now a participant in the vibrant Lowell, MA art scene. Her acrylic paintings on canvas concentrate on the natural landscapes and architecture of New England in vibrating colors. Most of her work is done "en plein air" or on site, outdoors. Frequently her scenes are painted while on her “floating studio”, her husband’s boat, while he fishes. Her style borders between representational and abstract. The colors and lines of her paintings are inspired by Matisse during the Fauvist movement.
