Artist's Description

This painting is one of a few I did recently en plein air of the Carriage House at the DeCordova Museum in Lincoln, MA at the suggestion of my friend Holly Berube. I waited it out and finally the sun reappeared. I went back to my spot and finished the painting.

About Debra Bretton Robinson

Debra Bretton Robinson

Debra Bretton Robinson grew up in Plaistow, NH and received her degree from the Mass College of Art in Boston. She and her family reside in MA. Debra is now a participant in the vibrant Lowell, MA art scene. Her acrylic paintings on canvas concentrate on the natural landscapes and architecture of New England in vibrating colors. Most of her work is done "en plein air" or on site, outdoors. Frequently her scenes are painted while on her “floating studio”, her husband’s boat, while he fishes. Her style borders between representational and abstract. The colors and lines of her paintings are inspired by Matisse during the Fauvist movement. The talents of several other artists she continues to draw upon are: William Henry...
