Artist's Description

I’ve been doing a series of fruit still lives, inspired by a drawing lesson created for my talented elementary students in Lawrence, MA. The shapes, colors and compositions make me really happy somehow. I think I will do a few more. Anything for a distraction in the year of 2020.

Debra Bretton Robinson

Debra Bretton Robinson grew up in Plaistow, NH and received her degree from the Mass College of Art in Boston. She and her family reside in MA. Debra is now a participant in the vibrant Lowell, MA art scene. Her acrylic paintings on canvas concentrate on the natural landscapes and architecture of New England in vibrating colors. Most of her work is done "en plein air" or on site, outdoors. Frequently her scenes are painted while on her “floating studio”, her husband’s boat, while he fishes. Her style borders between representational and abstract. The colors and lines of her paintings are inspired by Matisse during the Fauvist movement.
