Artist's Description
We came to Aunt Pinky and Uncle John's beach house on Pemaquid Point, in Newtown, Maine for a much needed rest. I can honestly say it was the most relaxing weeks of our family life. No phones, no computers. It was on a very quiet dirt road that my husband insisted wasn't even a road at all when we first arrived (we were lost). The next day we picked blueberries for breakfast down the path and walked to the beach and an art gallery in town. Fabulous!
About Debra Bretton Robinson
Debra Bretton Robinson grew up in Plaistow, NH and received her degree from the Mass College of Art in Boston. She and her family reside in MA. Debra is now a participant in the vibrant Lowell, MA art scene. Her acrylic paintings on canvas concentrate on the natural landscapes and architecture of New England in vibrating colors. Most of her work is done "en plein air" or on site, outdoors. Frequently her scenes are painted while on her “floating studio”, her husband’s boat, while he fishes. Her style borders between representational and abstract. The colors and lines of her paintings are inspired by Matisse during the Fauvist movement.
