Artist's Description
This is a very recent painting from the boat on Lake Massapoag in Groton (or Tyngsboro?) Ma. This is "the Point" owned by the Lowell YMCA for Camp Massapoag where I worked as an art teacher two summers ago. The kids would come down there and fish, paint, see the view, etc.
About Debra Bretton Robinson
Debra Bretton Robinson grew up in Plaistow, NH and received her degree from the Mass College of Art in Boston. She and her family reside in MA. Debra is now a participant in the vibrant Lowell, MA art scene. Her acrylic paintings on canvas concentrate on the natural landscapes and architecture of New England in vibrating colors. Most of her work is done "en plein air" or on site, outdoors. Frequently her scenes are painted while on her “floating studio”, her husband’s boat, while he fishes. Her style borders between representational and abstract. The colors and lines of her paintings are inspired by Matisse during the Fauvist movement.
