This is the kitchen in our cottage at Half Moon Lake in NH. This was my beloved Grandad’s gift to us when he passed away in Australia. It was adorable and we really enjoyed it. One day I sat on the floor of the kitchen and drew it. I ended up painting this from the sketch several years later and just gave it a face lift with new colors today.
Debra Bretton Robinson grew up in Plaistow, NH and received her degree from the Mass College of Art in Boston. She and her family reside in MA. Debra is now a participant in the vibrant Lowell, MA art scene. Her acrylic paintings on canvas concentrate on the natural landscapes and architecture of New England in vibrating colors. Most of her work is done "en plein air" or on site, outdoors. Frequently her scenes are painted while on her “floating studio”, her husband’s boat, while he fishes. Her style borders between representational and abstract. The colors and lines of her paintings are inspired by Matisse during the Fauvist movement.
