How is it I never took a photo of this one? Oh, that's right. My daughter Yvie ran off with it as soon as she saw it! Well, here it is. My father-in-law Ken Robinson rents these amazing houses near the beach and was nice enough to invite us. This one was in Gloucester, MA. Thank you Ken! I went there and saw this view and flipped. So dramatic! It was destined to be painted. So I sat there on the rocks and painted it immediately.Glorious.
Debra Bretton Robinson grew up in Plaistow, NH and received her degree from the Mass College of Art in Boston. She and her family reside in MA. Debra is now a participant in the vibrant Lowell, MA art scene. Her acrylic paintings on canvas concentrate on the natural landscapes and architecture of New England in vibrating colors. Most of her work is done "en plein air" or on site, outdoors. Frequently her scenes are painted while on her “floating studio”, her husband’s boat, while he fishes. Her style borders between representational and abstract. The colors and lines of her paintings are inspired by Matisse during the Fauvist movement.
