Artist's Description

Here is the latest outdoor painting from the boat. My husband used to drag me with him to watch him fish...(yawn). Then I finally wised up and started bringing canvases with me. (why didn't I think of this before?) so this is the first in the 2013 season. There will be many more. We go to Massapaug Lake in Massachusetts. Its either in Groton, Dunstable or Tyngsboro...or maybe all three. Gorgeous place to go in May and June but then its shut off to the riff-raff like me after that and the residents use it for themselves. After that we go to the Merrimack River. Its too big a place to shut down. :)

About Debra Bretton Robinson

Debra Bretton Robinson

Debra Bretton Robinson grew up in Plaistow, NH and received her degree from the Mass College of Art in Boston. She and her family reside in MA. Debra is now a participant in the vibrant Lowell, MA art scene. Her acrylic paintings on canvas concentrate on the natural landscapes and architecture of New England in vibrating colors. Most of her work is done "en plein air" or on site, outdoors. Frequently her scenes are painted while on her “floating studio”, her husband’s boat, while he fishes. Her style borders between representational and abstract. The colors and lines of her paintings are inspired by Matisse during the Fauvist movement. The talents of several other artists she continues to draw upon are: William Henry...
